For anyone new to meditation or looking to refresh your practice this series is a great place to start. At 20 minutes per session you can fit this into your day either first thing in the morning or in the evening (I do mine in the afternoon when my bub is sleeping recharging my for the rest of the day!). Having the commitment of 21 days feels manageable and because you're practicing with an community (albeit online) it feels less isolating and more like a team sport. For me this group mentality helps me make a commitment to set aside the time to doing it every day. So if you're like me and need a nudge sometimes to commit to a regular practice this challenge is ideal.
Because we all know that life sneaks up on us and some days are just too hard to find time to yourself that's not a problem with this challenge as each meditation is held for up to 5 days after so you have time to catch up - enough time to catch up and a gentle deadline to force you to prioritse yourself!
Deepak guides the meditation and starts with a centering thought and mantra. These are great to focus on when your mind starts to wander. Included also is an online journal with some thought provoking questions which you can use to make the most of your meditation experience. This next 21 day challenge is titled Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit and is a meditation journey focussed on helping you discover 'what truly nourishes your entire being and lift the heaviness that has held you back from being your best self. Experience the freedom that comes from stabilizing physical hunger, alleviating mental unrest, and satisfying spiritual longing.'
